Triptych Launch Party – Donors

The official launch party for Triptych is just a week away!

I am very lucky to have some amazing friends among the hordes of geekdom in Toronto, and they have agreed to provide raffle prizes, door prizes, and sweets for the party.  Please find out about them all below, and check out their own websites.

Ad Astra 2011
Party host and total enabler

Ad Astra Logo

If I hadn’t attended Ad Astra 2009, I wouldn’t be published right now. I met my editor Gabrielle Harbowy at a room party that fateful weekend. Gabrielle, Dragon Moon Press and I also announced the signing of the book at Ad Astra 2010. Naturally, we felt that we had to celebrate the publication with them as well! I owe a lot to the convention, and am happy to share my big night with Ad Astra.

The Sweet Escape Patisserie
UFO Cookies and Triptych Cake

Sweet Escape Logo

UFO Cookies by Michelle Edgar

Head chef Michelle Edgar has lovingly handcrafted 60 silver retro UFO cinnamon-sugar cookies. As well, she’s created an amazing 3D cake for everyone to share! Chef Edgar co-owns The Sweet Escape, a creative, quirky and delicious little bakery in Toronto’s historic Distillery District; I have spent many hours editing  Triptych at her cafe tables, so it seemed only right to have everyone else enjoy her treats at the party!

Liana K. and Ed the Sock
Autographed swag

Liana K. is a fiercely intelligent woman with a sparkling wit, and a big advocate of Triptych. Along with her co-host, cultural icon Ed The Sock, Liana stars in “This Movie Sucks!” Liana and Ed have generously donated the Alien Ear headbands, and autographed swag from thier past shows for the raffle.

Red Moon Creations
One of a kind glassware

Owned and operated by Stephanie Lalonde, Red Moon Creations is the place to go for all your geek-inspired jewellery and steampunk accessories. Red Moon Creations is supplying some special, one-of-a-kind glassware for the raffle! The glassware is etched with a one-time-only designed specially to celebrate the launch!

Emily Schooley and “The Boob Show”
Photography gift certificates

The Boob Show

Smart, sassy, fierce and funny, actress and comedienne Emily Schooley is someone to watch! A huge supporter of all geek girl endeavours in Toronto, Emily is also a fine and skilled photographer who has offered The Boob Show swag and gift certificates for the raffle.

Nerd Girl Pin Ups
Comics, NDP swag, buttons

A website dedicated to the idea that nerd girls can be intelligent and sexy, too, NGP empowers geek gurls to take pride in their hobbies and their bodies! NGP has provided literal bags of swag for the raffle!

Laurie Channer
Copy of her incredible cyberpunk novel, Godblog

I cannot say enough about how amazing I thought Godblog was. I am lucky enough to know Laurie Channer, a thoughtful, kind authoress, personally. She has agreed to donate a copy of her powerful debut novel to the raffle.

I highly reccomend picking up a copy.

Dragon Moon Press
Books and Swag

Dragon Moon Press Logo

Of course, no book launch give-away would be complete without a pile of books and swag from the publisher!  What wonderful new world will you get to take home in the raffle? Discover the authors of Dragon Moon Press and perhaps find a new favourite!

Then make sure to swing by the Dragon Moon Press table in the Ad Astra dealer’s room to round out your collection and get the book signed by the author him/herself.

Kenneth Shelley and Strange Days Clothing
Men’s steampunk waistcoat, size medium

One of the up-and-coming stars of the Toronto Cosplaying Community, Kenneth Shelley of Strange Days Clothing and Costuming has offered up a beautiful, hand made steampunk men’s waistcoat. Kenneth is available for commissions.

Rev. Corbie Mitleid and Fire Through Spirit
Reading, Numerology Report, and Feathersilk Products

Corbie has been a stable and positive influence in my life (nobody deals with my self-doubt panic attacks like Corbie!), and I am happy to share her with the world. Corbie is a grounded, informed, wonderful councellor, and I reccomend her and her advice to everyone. Corbie has offered a psychic reading, a numerology report, and a set of her new Feathersilk skin products.
